“For God is not unjust, so as to forget your work and the love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still serve them.”
Prayer
Righteous Father, Keeper of covenant and Witness of every hidden sacrifice, I lift my voice before You with bold confidence in Your justice and mercy. You are the God who remembers, the God who sees, the God who keeps perfect record of every labor offered in Your name. I declare that the lives of Your servants who poured themselves out at the altar are not erased by time, sidelined by age, or diminished by silence. You are not unjust to forget their work, and therefore their labor is alive before You even when human memory fades.
Lord, I stand in the gap for Your retired servants and their households. For sermons preached with trembling obedience, for nights spent in prayer while others slept, for counsel given with patience, for wounds carried quietly, and for faithfulness that endured without applause—let divine remembrance rise before You like incense. Where discouragement has whispered that their best days are past, I proclaim that You still honor what You began. Let the assurance of heaven’s record heal every ache born from neglect or invisibility.
Father, restore dignity to their hearts. Replace any sense of being overlooked with the deep, anchoring truth that You are pleased. Let Your Spirit testify within them that their service was not in vain. Where disappointment lingers from unacknowledged labor, wash their souls with peace. Where provision feels uncertain, show Yourself strong as the faithful Provider who rewards obedience in due season.
I pray for their families as well. Let spouses be strengthened, children be reassured, and households be wrapped in the quiet comfort of Your faithfulness. Let testimonies arise that prove You still care, still supply, and still surround those who served You wholeheartedly.
I declare that the harvest of their obedience will speak for generations. Let joy replace weariness, honor replace heaviness, and hope rise again like morning light. You remember them, O God—and because You remember, they are secure. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
