When Time Runs Out, God Remains

For man also doesn’t know his time. As the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.

—Ecclesiastes 9:12 WEB

Prayer

Lord, I come before You with a heart that knows how uncertain this life is. Just as Your Word says in Ecclesiastes, I do not know my time. Like fish caught in an evil net or birds taken in a snare, I see how suddenly trouble can fall—how evil can spring upon a person without warning. I confess, Father, that this truth humbles me. I cannot control the day of my testing, and I cannot outrun the snare when it appears.

But I do not walk in fear, because I trust in You. You are the One who sees the hidden traps. You are the Deliverer who can break every net and free every captive. Even when evil rises like a sudden storm, You remain my refuge. You remain my shield. I take shelter in You, not because I am strong, but because You are.

So I surrender today, Lord—my plans, my timing, my need to be in control. I surrender the fear of what I cannot see. I place my trust in Your wisdom, knowing that You number my days and order my steps. Though I may not know the time or the season when danger comes, I know the One who holds time in His hands.

Deliver me from every hidden evil. Rescue me from every unseen snare. Keep me close to You, anchored in Your truth, walking in Your light, guarded by Your mercy. I rest in the promise that nothing surprises You, and nothing can overcome me when I dwell in You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
