Clean Hands Before God

Then Jacob said to his household, and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, change your garments. Let’s arise, and go up to Bethel. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me on the way which I went.” They gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the rings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

Prayer

Father, I come before You with reverence and honesty. I do not want to carry hidden idols while asking You to heal what is broken around me. Search my heart, my habits, my desires, and my household. Show me where my loyalty has been divided, where comfort has replaced obedience, and where I have made peace with things You are calling me to bury.

I surrender every false refuge. I lay down every attachment that has competed with Your voice, Your presence, and Your authority. I do not want an altar built beside compromise. I want my worship to be clean, my prayers to be sincere, and my life to agree with the burden I carry for restoration. Purify me with mercy, not shame. Correct me with love, not condemnation. Bring me back to the place where You are first.

Let my household be marked by consecration. Let anything that has entered through neglect, fear, pride, rebellion, or spiritual dullness be brought under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Teach me to lead with humility, not accusation. Teach me to repent before I rebuke, to surrender before I speak, and to obey before I ask others to change.

Father, make me a faithful intercessor for the land. Do not let me pray from self-righteousness, resentment, or control. Let my prayers rise from a surrendered heart that remembers Your mercy. Give me clean hands, a pure heart, and courage to remove what does not belong. Let my life become an altar where Your covenant faithfulness is honored.

I believe You meet those who return to You. I believe You answer in distress and remain faithful along the way. As I bury what cannot go forward, lead me into renewed worship, renewed obedience, and renewed spiritual clarity. Let my consecration become a doorway for compassion, wisdom, and faithful intercession over every place You have called me to love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
