“Then Jacob said to his household, and to all who were with him, ‘Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. Let us arise, and go up to Bethel. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me on the way which I went.’ They gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the rings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem. As they traveled, a terror of God was on the cities that were around them, and they didn’t pursue the sons of Jacob.”
Prayer
Mighty God of my fathers, today I rise in the authority of the One who calls families, territories, and generations back to covenant alignment. You who answered Jacob and surrounded his journey with terror against every hostile force, arise now over my life and household. I declare that every hidden allegiance, every object of compromise, every point of access for darkness in my lineage is exposed and removed by Your holy fire.
Father, in the spirit of Jacob’s command, I cast down every foreign loyalty—known or unknown—assigned to empower witchcraft altars against my family. Let purification flow like a river from Your throne. Wash my spirit, soul, and body. Change the garments of my household, O Lord—remove the stained robes of previous agreements and clothe us in righteousness, consecration, and holy identity.
God of Bethel, the One who answers in distress, bring us into the place of Your altar—an altar built not by fear, but by devotion, obedience, and blood covenant. Let every contrary altar crumble under Your presence. Every shrine speaking against my destiny, every monument built by ancestors in ignorance, and every modern point of demonic consultation—let them be uprooted and buried under the authority of Christ.
Place the terror of Your presence around my home, my children, my marriage, my calling, and my future. Let hostile spiritual forces scatter and flee without pursuit. Surround us with supernatural dread that prevents enemies from tracking, monitoring, or retaliating.
I raise a superior altar today—an altar of worship, obedience, and the blood of Jesus. From this altar, let blessings, protection, and unbroken communion with You flow into every generation after me.
