“Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. He will not always accuse; neither will he stay angry forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
Prayer
O Father of compassion, I come before You in awe of the mercy that refuses to let my failures define me. You are the God who bends low to lift shame off my shoulders, the God who refuses to treat me according to my sins, the God who stretches His kindness higher than the heavens and deeper than my need. Today I stand under the waterfall of Your forgiveness, letting every residue of condemnation be washed away.
Lord, let this same mercy flood my household. Let every heart beneath my roof be awakened to the truth that You are slow to anger and rich in steadfast love. Where guilt has gripped the mind, let Your compassion break the chains. Where regret has suffocated joy, let Your lovingkindness breathe revival. I intercede for my family to know the miracle of guilt removed and transgression forgotten.
And Father, I cry out for Your Church. Forgive us for magnifying our failures more than Your mercy. Release Your forgiveness until congregations become sanctuaries of grace—places where prodigals run home, saints are restored, and worship rises unhindered by shame. Let revival begin in forgiven hearts.
Finally, Lord, stretch this mercy over our nation. Remove transgressions from us as far as east from west. Heal the land by healing its people. Awaken leaders, cities, and generations to Your kindness. Let the memory of sin be swallowed by the
magnitude of Your love. Do in us what no policy or program ever could—revive us through forgiveness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
