“My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.”
— Psalm 63:1b WEB
Prayer
O Living God, I come before You with a yearning that words can barely contain. You are the One my soul aches for, the One my entire being reaches toward in the barren places of life. When the ground around me feels cracked and the landscape of my circumstances feels dry, I lift my heart to You—the Fountain who never fails. I bless You that deep hunger is not a curse but an invitation, a holy summons to experience more of Your presence. Lord, let my longing become a pathway into Your fullness. Let the dryness around me become the backdrop for Your glory to shine brighter in my life and in my family.
Father, in every place where I feel faint, breathe upon me. Let the thirst in my soul become a mighty pull toward Your presence, not a reason to despair. My flesh longs for You above earthly comforts, above human answers, above every temporary satisfaction. You alone can fill the gaping places. You alone can water the deserts of my heart. I receive the holy longing You stir in me as a sign of Your love drawing me deeper. I lean into that call, refusing to numb or silence it. You are training my spirit to drink from wells that never run dry.
Lord, as I walk through seasons that feel harsh or empty, reveal Yourself as my shade, my stream, my endless supply. Cause my family to taste and see the treasure of Your nearness. Let our home be marked by people who know how to come thirsty and leave satisfied. I proclaim that our wilderness will not swallow us; our longing will lead us into encounter. Even here, even now, You are more than enough for us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
