Unchanging Covenant Presence

“Moses said to God, ‘Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and tell them, “The God of your fathers has sent me to you,” and they ask me, “What is his name?” What should I tell them?” God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM,’ and he said, ‘You shall tell the children of Israel this: “I AM has sent me to you.”’ God said moreover to Moses, ‘You shall tell the children of Israel this: “Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.” This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.’

— Exodus 3:13–15 WEB

Prayer

Yahweh, eternal I AM, I come before You in awe of Your covenant Name. You are the God who exists without beginning or end, the One who stands unshaken through every generation. Today I anchor my heart in Your unchanging nature. You are not moved by my feelings, my circumstances, or the storms around me. You are the same God who spoke from the burning bush, and You are with me now.

I lift up the assignments You have placed on my life and my family. As You commissioned Moses, so You commission me with purpose, direction, and divine confidence. Let Your Name—Yahweh—rest upon everything You have called me to do. Let Your authority silence fear, doubt, and intimidation. Teach me to lean into Your eternal presence that goes before me and surrounds me.

Yahweh, let the reality of “I AM” shape my identity. Where I feel insufficient, You are enough. Where I feel weak, You are strength. Where I feel uncertain, You are truth. I declare that my household will walk in the assurance of Your covenant faithfulness. We will not be moved by shifting winds but rooted in the God who simply is.

Reveal Yourself to us daily. Make Your presence unmistakable. Let Your Name be glorified in our choices, our words, our relationships, and our worship. Be the I AM in every lacking place and the I AM in every victorious season.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
