For wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.
Prayer
We come before You with reverence and trembling, standing in the gap for a nation desperately in need of Your divine wisdom. For Your Word declares in Ecclesiastes 7:12 that “wisdom is a defense, as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.” Lord, we seek that life-giving wisdom—the kind that shields, guides, and restores what has been broken.
You see the confusion in our land, the blindness of leaders, and the deception that clouds the hearts of many. We intercede, O God, for an outpouring of Your wisdom over this nation—wisdom that defends against destruction, that silences the voice of folly, and that directs the course of nations back to righteousness.
Raise up men and women who fear You and walk in discernment, for Your Word says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Let that holy fear return to our schools, our courts, our homes, and our places of leadership. Replace pride with humility, rebellion with repentance, and confusion with clarity.
We ask that You defend our generation with the shelter of divine insight. May Your wisdom act as a wall around our youth, our cities, our families—preserving them from the schemes of the wicked and the snares of deception. Make Your people wise as serpents and innocent as doves, guided by the Spirit and grounded in truth.
Let the excellence of knowledge take root in us—not knowledge that puffs up, but the knowledge of the Holy One that gives life and light. Let wisdom be our shield, our strategy, and our song. May it guide our decisions, guard our borders, and govern our hearts.
We declare that the defense of wisdom shall not be stripped from this land. Instead, let it rise—stronger than lies, louder than fear, and firmer than compromise.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
